In 1932, Bertram Whittier (B.W.) Wells published The Natural Gardens of North Carolina.
Including descriptions of some of North Carolina's natural plant communities and a key to many of the State's herbaceous wildflowers, the book is now a classic.
The BW Wells Stewardship Fund is funded, in part, from net royalties of the November 2002 revised edition. It contains 40 color plates, over 60 black & white illustrations, and both an index and an appendix.
