The common name Doll Eyes comes from the black marks on the end of the seed pod that is like older doll's eyes were painted.

I photographed this plant at a friend’s home on Rose Lake in Langlade County, Wisconsin in the fall of 2008.  The stems were red and a few berries had broken off.  I had never seen one before. Thank you for helping me identify it.
