Field Trip: Swift Creek Bluffs(Meet at the Swift Creek Bluffs parking lot at 2 PM - or at 1 PM at the Reid Garden to carpool.)
Event Sponsor: Margaret Reid Chapter
We will explore Swift Creek Bluffs, a Triangle Land Conservancy nature preserve off Holly Springs Road in Cary. The spring ephemerals - troutlilies, hepaticas, bloodroot, etc. - have started emerging already and should be putting on their show on March 3 if the weather gods oblige.
We will meet at 1 PM at the Reid Garden (1439 Dixie Trail in Raleigh) to carpool, and at 2 PM at the Swift Creek Bluffs parking lot off Holly Springs Road, near the pumping station (a short distance south of the Swift Creek bridge). Jesse Perry will join us and share his knowledge of the site’s features and ecology.
Please contact Amy Mackintosh (mackintosh.amy @ gmail.com) to register for this trip and let her know where you will meet us.
The spring ephemerals are also starting to emerge and bloom at the Reid Garden. Carpoolers on March 3 might want to come a bit early to admire them before heading down to Swift Creek Bluffs.
